Whim Support

Whim is a book that answers. Think of a question, open the book, and it says one thing.
Write to hasanidean97@gmail.com and you will get a reply. It helps to say which iPhone you have and which version of iOS.
How do I use it?
Tap the book on the cover. The pages turn, they stop where they stop, and an answer appears. Tap Ask again for another, as many times as you like, or Close book when you are done.
How is the answer chosen?
At random, from a fixed set of lines written by hand. Whim does not read, interpret, or respond to your question. You never type one, and there is no keyboard anywhere in the app.
The only rule is that it will not repeat itself too quickly. Answers are for entertainment, and are not advice of any kind.
Where are my old answers?
Tap The back of the book at the bottom of the cover, then What the book has said. Tap any card to read it full page again.
To leave that room, tap the small book at the top left.
Can I delete them?
Yes, in two ways:
- One answer: open it from the shelf and use the bin at the bottom left. It asks once before it takes anything.
- All of them: the back of the book, then Settings, then Clear history.
I cannot hear anything
Whim respects the ring and silent switch on the side of your iPhone, so it stays quiet when your phone is set to silent. Flip that switch and try again.
There is also a Sound toggle in Settings, inside the back of the book.
I cannot feel anything
Whim uses light haptic taps rather than a buzz. If you feel nothing at all, check these on your iPhone, in this order:
- Settings, Accessibility, Touch, Vibration. If this is off, every vibration on the phone is disabled and no app can override it.
- Settings, Sounds and Haptics, System Haptics.
- Settings, Battery, Low Power Mode. iPhone disables haptics while this is on.
- The Haptics toggle in Whim's own Settings.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign in, no account, and no subscription. Whim is free, and everything it stores stays on your phone. See the privacy policy.
A page came up that was not an answer
That was meant to happen. Nothing is broken, nothing is counted, and there is nothing to go looking for.
